The Data Platform Group is looking for a star who will be our customers and developers hero, by writing our next generation of Cloud Database platform. We own the technologies from client drivers such as ADO.Net Managed Providers and SQL ODBC drivers to connectivity stack in Front and Back Ends. These technologies are the fundamental backbone to Cloud DB ecosystem. Our mission is to provide best in class cloud service which enables high performance & scalable applications. We are looking for a star who is highly motivated and passionate about database technologies in order to deliver the best cloud DB platform ever.

In the next few years our team will be challenged to build robust and scalable platform to make Azure the leading cloud platform. Some of the areas we are looking into are to leverage high-availability, performance, cloud computing, new transaction models, etc. You will have a significant impact on our products and our Azure strategy. SQL Server is a $5 billion plus business and growing, and its success is directly tied to our developers and the foundation laid by our team.


Design and implement features in Azure SQL DB components and ADO.NET drivers
Work cross-team and cross-disciplines
Participate in improving/enhancing the components and cloud platform


3+ years of experience in the software and/or service industry
Strong C++/C# design and coding skills
Passion for product quality and excellence in software engineering
Passion for customers and their scenarios
Good communications skills
Good cross-team collaboration skills
Knowledge and experience in SQL Server and cloud computing are plus
A BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is required
